A user-centered healthcare solution: The Reliance Health App

About

Reliance Health is an app that provides telemedical assistance to its users. It also allows employees of registered companies to view their health plan subscriptions and access medical services. The app is available in both web and mobile versions for convenience. The app learns about user choices, preferences, and symptoms using machine learning, helping users improve their quality of life. My team and I developed an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) and a ready-to-scale version of the app using React Native and Elixir. Additionally, I conducted over two workshops at different stages of the app's design and development.

My Role

  • I worked as the Lead Business Analyst and Product Owner.

  • I maintained an updated product backlog and constantly reviewed sprint backlogs to ensure that acceptance criteria were properly captured.

  • Worked collaboratively and managed a tech team of 10 including UX designers, researchers, QA and software engineers. I had daily time-boxed stand-up meetings, sprints, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Ran different Google Forms to confirm and discover more information about target needs. In one of the first Google Forms, they got +300 answers in 3 days without any massive web campaign.

  • We tested the prototype with final users in Nigeria and Egypt. Everybody we talked with got very interested in the app, they were willing to donate their time to help and also participated in the workshops, surveys and beta testing.

  • I conducted official UAT sessions with clients.

Outcomes/Results

  • Participants mentioned that the app was "Simple" and "Easy to use".

  • 80% of respondents who had never used a telemedicine app expressed their willingness to start using it

  • 90% of people wanted to switch to Reliance HMO due to the app's features.

  • Held 3 workshops with real users in two countries.
